Guano Removal/ Deep Clean

Cleaning

Once the pigeons have left, it is recommended to carry out a vigorous cleaning and disinfection of the surfaces to avoid any further damage. Indeed, the droppings and guano left by pigeons contain high amounts of nitric acid. A substance which, if left untreated for too long, can seriously damage surfaces such as wood, concrete etc. In addition, the droppings left by birds constitute a major health risk. Indeed, bird droppings contain a large number of bacteria, fungi and pathogenic micro-organisms responsible for many infectious diseases such as Psittacosis, Histoplasmosis or even avian flu which can be very severe, particularly in people most vulnerable (pregnant women, children, the elderly, etc).

Our methods vary according to the facades and the level of damage. Brick, concrete, stone and wood are the main materials that make up the facades. Our methods fall into three categories:

  • Aggressive cleaning
  • Traditional cleaning
  • Gentle cleaning

Aggressive Cleaning

This particularly vigorous method is favored on all facades made of steel, brick, stone or concrete, under certain conditions of age and/or deterioration.

Aggressive methods include:

  • High pressure cleaning
  • Sandblasting
  • Sanding

Traditional Cleaning

For hard-to-reach and delicate surfaces, eg wood, historical monuments that deserve closer examination.

Traditional methods include:

  • Manual cleansing
  • Exfoliation
  • Stripping peeling

Gentle Cleaning

To fully preserve the aesthetics of your facades, our gentle but equally effective methods are sometimes the only solution. This method is generally adopted for facades and particularly delicate materials: glass, stained glass, lighting systems, surveillance camera.

Gentle methods include:

  • Hydrogommage
  • Foam treatment

Limitation of health risks

To protect the health of our agents and limit any health risk, specific measures have been put in place. Indeed, our agents directly exposed to dried droppings are required to wear:

  • Single-use clothing
  • Type P2 respiratory protection.
  • Waterproof gloves and rubber boots.

In order to protect passers-by, a security perimeter is set up around the area to be treated. All processing takes place during closing hours or during off-peak hours.
